Facilities
The Thorpe Woodlands Adventure Centre is located in the heart of the forest and has good access to footpaths, cycle tracks and the river Thet. Our modern facilities include a purpose built 51-bed residential centre, Two camping glades accommodating up to 60 people, with access to showers and toilets, outdoor classrooms, campfire areas, conference rooms and much more..
We pride ourselves on being fully inclusive, we have excellent residential facilities for disabled people – please call us to discuss your needs.
Camping
Camping at Thorpe Woodlands offers the ultimate outdoor experience. Our excellent camping facilities include: large separate group camping glades, campfire circles, outdoor sinks with hot water, clean and modern shower/toilet block, outdoor classroom with light and power, picnic tables, water/refuse points for each glade and much more. Our location within Thetford Forest makes Thorpe Woodlands a perfect base for Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, cadet camps and other uniformed youth groups (Cubs, scouts, guides, beavers etc).
We charge only £10 per person, per night plus VAT for all campers (minimum 10 people).
We have space for around 60 people so if you would like to bring a group to camp at Thorpe Woodlands, please contact us.
Escape Pods
We opened our 'Esacape Pods' in 2018 and they have been a huge success. With comfortable accomodation for 42 people, our pods are a great option for groups wanting the comfort and warmth of indoor accomodation but the adventure and freedom that comes with camping. We have a large log cabin which provides an indoor area for meal times, a seperate shower and toilet block and lots of outdoor space. . We also offer a 2 night 3 day Escape Pod Package for schools and youth groups term time. This includes catering and an Instructor led activity programme.
Our Escape pods are available to hire self-catering only at weekends and school holidays for all 9 pods. We do not hire them out individually.
Residential Centre
Our beautiful residential centre offers 51 beds, a drying room, separate staff shower/toilet, large commercial kitchen, dining hall, meeting room and outside seating areas. The modern Cedar-clad building blends perfectly with the surrounding forest and offers a warm and welcome retreat from the outdoors at the end of a busy day.
Our catering team provide food for all visiting residential school groups term time.
Our residential centre is availabe to hire self-catering at weekends and during school holidays.
The building is all on one level so we have no problem in accommodating people with disability or other additional needs. Our state-of-the-art accessible shower room features hoists, changing bed and shower chair.
